SHEILA O'MALLEY is an oil painter living in Taos. Her love of art began at a young age when she escaped into books with images from Europe's cities and museums. She majored in art history, and later studied painting in the classical realism tradition. It was when she discovered landscape painting, that she found her muse, and a longtime love of the land and of nature found expression. "I look for places where the sky and land compose in a beautiful, harmonious way.

There is a feeling to it, a life. My best work comes from the energetic enthusiasm I feel for my subject."
