Thomas “Chipper” Thompson

Robert Evan Corey (R.E.C.) “Chipper” Thompson was born and raised in the small north Alabama town of Athens, but has lived in Taos, New Mexico for 35 years.

Both born into married into artistic families. “The Art Spirit” was nurtured all through Chipper’s upbringing and has never faltered.

For many years after Chipper moved to Taos, he was known primarily as a musician, composing and performing his own songs as well as performing with local groups; Burning Joan, Kim and the Caballeros, Bone Orchard, and The Serpent Herders, just name a few. Chipper has released many CD’s of his music.

Chipper is also a noted visual artist, and was represented by the prestigious Gerald Peters Gallery in Santa Fe until their recent closure, and had two one-man shows there – “Documents” and “Aloft and Beneath”.

Chipper is also a writer and the author of “Homefields: The Art of Lanford Monroe” and a novel, “The Substance of Things Hoped For”
